More Than an Import - A Factory Visit

More Than an Import - A Factory Visit

JACKSONVILLE, FL — June 7, 2025

Derya Arms recently welcomed GBGuns, a respected firearms reviewer and Army veteran with over a decade of experience, to our manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, Florida. Known for his honest and in-depth pistol reviews, GBGuns explored our production process, interviewed our team, and witnessed the creation of our DY9 pistol and DY12 shotgun. Expecting a simple import operation, he discovered a dedicated factory crafting high-quality firearms right here in the USA.

From SHOT Show to Factory Floor

The connection with GBGuns began at SHOT Show, where he met our team member Dustin Jones. As one of the first owners of a DY9 pistol when it was an imported model, GBGuns was curious about our operations. Anticipating a small import office, he was surprised to step into a fully operational manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, staffed by an eight-person team. Greeted by President Abdullah Celer and Vice President of Manufacturing Harry Burleigh, GBGuns got an up-close look at how we build firearms in Florida.

Inside the Production Process

GBGuns observed the DY9 and DY12 coming to life. Our plastic injection molding line produced ergonomic pistol frames with precision, while CNC machines machined metal components with exacting detail. The laser engraving station added final touches, etching serial numbers and branding. Each process underscored our commitment to quality, with our skilled team ensuring every part meets rigorous standards. Harry Burleigh explained how our streamlined production maintains high quality and competitive costs, impressing GBGuns with the expertise of our small but dedicated crew.

Exclusive Interview with Dustin Jones

GBGuns sat down with Dustin Jones for an in-depth interview, available here: Derya Arms Factory Interview. Dustin shared our vision of blending innovation and accessibility, highlighting how Jacksonville production ensures tight quality control and rapid market response. He discussed the DY9’s reliability and ergonomic design, ideal for everyday carry, and the DY12’s versatility for hunting or home defense. Dustin also teased future plans, including new models and potential facility expansions.

Meeting the Derya Arms Team

President Abdullah Celer outlined our goal to make Derya a trusted name in American firearms, merging Turkish heritage with Florida manufacturing expertise. Harry Burleigh shared insights into production optimizations, from CNC precision to injection molding efficiency. Our eight-person team—specialists in assembly, quality control, and finishing—showcased the teamwork driving our factory. GBGuns noted their pride in producing firearms in Jacksonville, a sentiment we share deeply.

GBGuns’ Perspective and What’s Next

With 15 years of firearms experience and early adoption of the DY9, GBGuns was impressed by our Jacksonville factory. He shared his perspective in a detailed article: GBGuns Depot Factory Overview. His visit highlights Derya Arms’ role as more than an importer—we’re innovators building reliable, accessible firearms. We’re grateful for GBGuns’ honest reporting and invite you to explore the DY9 and DY12. Stay tuned for updates on new products and developments.
